This tea comes from Son La province in the highlands of the north west of Vietnam. It is made in the style of the Taiwanese ball rolled oolongs, and has the quality to match.
It is produced using the premium Thanh Tam bush variety grown at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level. The plant responds only to the most caring cultivation and conditions but the grower is rewarded with an exquisitely light, fragrant, floral, full-bodied and slightly sweet tea.
The Son La region is a pristine mountainous rural part of Vietnam, with climate and soil conditions that lend themselves well to tea making. This tea is grown on the famous Moc Chau plateau. Teas from Vietnam have not always been known for their quality, however these teas sit on the high end of the premium tea scale and are sourced from dedicated and responsible farmers.
