Dan Cong oolongs are a famous type of oolong from Guandong Province in China’s southern coast. The meaning of Dan Cong is ‘single bush’ as these teas are harvested from singular tea trees rather than hedged tea bushes. The Phoenix Mountains are the home of the Dan Cong oolong - it has many old trees, and the soil is rich in minerals, which bring out the soft aspects of the tea. Dan Cong oolongs are easily identified by their stonefruit characteristics.
