Last Sunday I attended the Creative Women’s Circle event at Harvest Work Room in East Brunswick.
Creative Women’s Circle is a series of networking and speaking events for women working in creative industries.
Organiser Tess McCabe recently approached Tea&Sympathy to see whether we would be interested in sponsoring the event. This involved coming along and talking a bit about tea (my favourite thing) and by bringing along a selection of teas to be expertly steeped for a bunch of 60 thirsty creatives! Of course I was much obliged.
Harvest Textiles was the host of this event. Owners Lara, Emma and Jess make hand screen-printed clothing, homewares, yardage and handmade DIY contemporary toy kits, and run workshops at their studio, where students can learn how to screen print, make jewellery, weave, and paint with watercolours. Their presentation gave us an interesting insight into their approach, creative backgrounds, how they came together and how they have built a thriving business.
After the presentation, tea and conversation flowed freely. Here are a few photos of the afternoon.
